Seeing Words follows a consistent Say, Build, See, Write learning sequence that helps students explore words through sound, sight, movement, and language.

Say
Students say the word and isolate the sounds within it. Slowing spoken words down helps students notice where individual sounds occur and begin connecting what they hear to the letters they see.

Build
Students form the letters themselves with clay and place them in sequence to build the word. Creating each letter by hand makes word study active, visual, spatial, and tactile.

Students look carefully at the completed word and its sound structure. With the whole word directly in front of them, students can see how individual sounds and letters come together to form a readable word.

Students move from the clay model to written language by forming the word themselves. Writing reinforces the connection between sounds, letters, spelling patterns, and the complete word.
